Built on clinical integrity, emotional impact, and educational excellence, LifeSavers is uniquely positioned to stand as a leading name in CPR training and emergency response education.

A Legacy Rooted in Community

LifeSavers opened its doors in 1991 under the leadership of Carrie Larson in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. In 1999, the torch was passed to Sandra Litman, who would go on to shape the organization for the next 35 years.



Litman became a powerhouse in the CPR community—serving as Owner, Training Center Coordinator, and Instructor of LifeSavers, Training for Life. Her teaching methodology, known for its simplicity, fun, and emotional resonance, helped thousands of students build the confidence and skill needed to provide exceptional emergency care. Her reputation in the Twin Cities is unmatched, built on unwavering quality instruction, certified experienced instructors, and outstanding customer service.

A New Chapter Begins

After decades of service, Litman made the heartfelt decision to retire—closing an extraordinary chapter in LifeSavers history. With intention and trust, she appointed Sarah Peterson as the new Owner of LifeSavers, effective January 1, 2026.

Peterson’s Vision: Knowledge Saves Lives

Peterson is a nurse by trade with a deep passion for teaching. With over a decade of CPR instruction experience and a diverse clinical background, she has served in roles ranging from complex in‑home skilled nursing to bedside care, leadership, and program development.

Her work includes co‑developing one of Minnesota’s largest swab and vaccination teams and providing care across state lines—including serving in a New York City state hospital during the COVID‑19 pandemic.

Driven by the belief that knowledge saves lives, Peterson is committed to meeting people where they are, building confidence, and inspiring excellence in every learner. Under her leadership, LifeSavers continues its mission: to empower everyday people to become extraordinary responders.
