Our Story

LifeSavers Training is more than a CPR companyโ€”it is a movement to empower and prepare all people, healthcare providers and everyday people alike, to become a world of Life Savers. With a foundation built on clinical integrity, emotional impact, and educational excellence, we are uniquely positioned to become a leading name in emergency training.

LifeSavers opened itโ€™s doors in 1991 with Carrie Larson in the Twin Cities, Minnesota and was passed along to the current owner, Sandra Litman, in 1999. For the past 35 years, Litman has been a powerhouse in the CPR community as the Owner, Training Center Coordinator, and Instructor of "LifeSavers, Training for Life". She has developed an incredible methodology in connecting with her students and developed a simple, fun, and impactful classroom setting which reinforces the cognitive understanding and skillsets needed to provide exceptional emergency care. The thousands of people Litman has taught over the years has developed her an incredible reputation in the Twin Cities community. LifeSavers prides itself on a solid foundation of unwavering quality instruction, certified experienced instructors, and outstanding customer service.

After much conversation, Litman made the decision to officially retire after 35 incredible and fulfilling years of service. Litman appointed Sarah Peterson to continue her legacy. Anticipated January 01, 2026 Peterson will be the new Owner of LifeSavers.

Peterson is a nurse by trade with a true passion for teaching. With over a decade of CPR instruction experience and a diverse clinical background, she has served in roles ranging from complex in-home skilled nursing and bedside care to leadership and program development. She played a key role in co-developing one of Minnesotaโ€™s largest swab and vaccination teams and has provided care across state lines, including serving in a New York City state hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Driven by the belief that knowledge saves lives, Peterson is dedicated to empowering othersโ€”meeting people where they are, building confidence, and inspiring excellence in every learner.

๐Ÿซ€ What it Means: This quote reflects the idea that true success isn't measured by wealth, fame, or status, but by the positive impact we've made on others โ€” even if it's just helping one person live better, feel safer, or survive.

๐Ÿซ€ In the context of our CPR business: Itโ€™s incredibly fitting - we are teaching people how to save lives

๐Ÿ‘ If just one student we train uses that skill to help someone โ€” whether thatโ€™s a child, coworker, parent, or stranger โ€” weโ€™ve already succeeded in the most meaningful way.

๐Ÿซ Our work quite literally helps someone "breathe easier" โ€” through CPR. Thatโ€™s not just metaphorical, itโ€™s literal, physical, and immediately impactful .
